Career Conversations Interview with an Author

Join the team at APH CareerConnect for our very popular Career Conversations Series. APH ConnectCenter staff and guest cohosts will welcome, introduce, and engage with working blind and low vision professionals from all backgrounds. Braille transcribers, clerical staff, librarian, owner of an audio production company and many others will step onto the CareerConnect stage on zoom throughout 2023.

Each interview will begin with a discussion on how our featured professional started out and ended up in their career, including how confidence, determination and self-advocacy played a role throughout their successful employment journey.

The remainder of the hour-long session will provide an opportunity for Transition age students and curious job seekers to follow up with choice career related questions. Registered attendees including young adults, job seekers, teachers and rehabilitation professionals can engage with our guest through real time Q&A networking by practicing informational interviewing.

Ann Chiappetta will share what it has been like for her to self-publish her poetry, fiction and nonfiction books. Ann has delt with changing vision as a result of retinitis pigmentosa and has used writing and her creative skills to help cope with her vision loss.
